Inspection in the quality control

In the great dictionary of Indonesian Language, refers to the examination of Inspection, inspection directly about regulations, tasks and more. If the Inspection or Inspections, we apply into quality control then it can be interprete that the Inspection or Inspection is the examination of a product are carefully generate are in accordance with the standards and rules that has been assign to him.

In quality control, inspection is one of the very important elements. Inspection (Inspection) is require to ensure the quality of products produce in accordance with the provisions and by default so that customer satisfaction can be maintain properly.

In addition to controlling the quality and maintain customer satisfaction, Inspections can also reduce manufacturing costs due to poor production quality as the cost of product returns from customers, the cost of rework in large quantities and costs disposal of material which does not comply with applicable provisions.

Introduction

In practice on the Manufacturing Industry, the Unit of work related to the inspection (Inspection) and testing (Test) is responsible for assessing the quality of the raw materials supply by the supplier (supplier) and the finish product produce by the manufacturing company itself has been in accordance with the prescribe standards and characteristics.

Work unit responsible for detecting and sorting out the components supply by the supplier of a product or semi-finish (Semi Products) from other work units are already in compliance with the prescribe standards of quality are usually call by the IQC (Incoming Quality Control). While work units responsible for the inspection and testing against a finish product are in production by manufacturing companies are usually call OQC or Outgoing Quality Control.

Quality inspection

Inspection or Inspection is basically only doing measurements against the level of conformity with the standards and the characteristics of the product that define and separate products which do not comply with the quality standard of the products meet the specify quality standards. So basically, the inspection will not do the study why the product does not comply with the standard or looking for the cause of the discrepancy (non-conformance). To do research on the causes of the discrepancy, there are certain parties or other work units that did it.

Inspection is the most common method use by manufacturing companies to achieve uniformity of product quality and standardization of products. If the resulting product is not in compliance with the provisions of the standards and specifications, then these products will be reject and the responsible party should do the corrective action (corrective countermeasure) from happening again mismatch standards in the future.

The purpose of the inspection (Inspection) in the quality control

The purpose of the Inspection in Quality Control (quality control) are as follows:

  1. Detect and eliminate defective raw materials before entering the production process.

  2. To detect product defects and low-quality products deliver to the customer.

  3. Give notice to management before a quality problems become serious so that management can take the necessary actions.

  4. To prevent delivery delays due to quality problems and reduce complaints from customers.

  5. Improve the quality and reliability of products.

Benefits Inspection (Inspection) in the quality control

  1. Distinguish good products Lot and Lot product.

  2. Differentiate a good product units and units of product.

  3. Find out if there is a change in the process.

  4. To find out if the production process is the specification limits or close.

  5. Assess the quality of the product.

  6. To measure the accuracy of the measuring instrument in the production.

  7. Measure the ability of the process.

  8. Other types of inspections in quality control

Type-the type of Inspection (Inspection) in the quality control

Inspection or Inspection can be divide into several types, such as Floor Inspection, Centralize Inspection, Combine Inspection, Functional Inspection, First Piece Inspection, a Pilot Piece Inspection and Final Inspection. The following is a discussion in a nutshell.

  1. Floor Inspection

The floor inspection is an inspection conduct in the production process. In Floor Inspection, Inspector perform examination of Material or semi-finish products (Spring Goods) on a production process that is perform by both man and machine. Inspector will conduct an examination of one machine/workers to the engine/other workers. This method can detect problems early before the products are produce in large quantities.

  2. Centralized Inspection

The centralize inspection is perform on a specific location or centralize at the appoint place. All the equipment and the testing Engine place at the place set aside for testing. All product samples testing to be perform is brought to that location to do done.

  3. Combined Inspection

It is a combination of Floor Inspection and Centralize Inspection.

  4. Functional Inspection

An inspection of Functional products. Like the example in the function of a Motor, a functional Inspection will check the characteristics of the motor speed corresponds to that specify without having to know the characteristics of each of the components forming the motor it. Functional Inspection generally carry out after a product has already become a finish product.

  5. First Piece Inspection

Inspection is an inspection that is done to the first unit. The first unit the meant it could be being the first unit of a work shift at the turn of the first unit at the turn of the LOT of the product, the first unit of work tools or at the turn of the first unit at the turn of the machine parameters.

  6. A Pilot Piece Inspection

A pilot piece inspection is an inspection that is done against a new product or new models.

  7. Final Inspection

The final inspection is an inspection conduct on finish products. Final Inspection examines the characteristics of the product thoroughly either Functional. Final Inspection is perform before the finish product deliver to the customer.

Methods of inspection (Inspection) in the quality control

There are two methods in conducting Inspection (Inspection) namely 100% Inspection method (100% Inspection) and Inspection methods in sampling (Sampling Inspection).

  1. 100% Inspection Method (100% Inspection)

Inspection was conduct of all the number of products produce by the production and testing techniques that are use must not be destructive in nature (does not damage the product). 100% Inspection method requires a lot of manpower and high costs. 100% Inspection method is usually apply on the products of value.

  2. Inspection Methods in Sampling (Sampling Inspection)

Inspection is perform against a specific number of samples of the total amount of product produce in a certain span of time. Samples taken in General is a random sample representing the overall population of the product (generally base on model, manpower, machinery or particular span of time). If in proven to detect any defective product. Then the whole related products will be reject and should be done reworking or sort. Examination or Sampling Inspections are cheaper and faster but have the risk of the occurrence of an error sample. The Sampling error is normally to be expect.
In the case of the destructive nature of the tests that is testing that may damage the product concern. Sampling Inspection is highly recommend.
The Sampling Inspection Method is usually done on products that are less expensive and worthless precision.
