Performance Management

A Performance management is the process of creating a work environment or setting in which people are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities. The performance management is a whole work system that begins when a job is defined as needed. It ends when an employee leaves your organization

Performance management is the process of creating a work environment or setting where people are on the setting for real proof of the conduct of all its potential. Performance management is the working system comprehensively starts from defining work, goals, goals etc. until the employee speaks out from your organization.

Introduction performance management


Performance management is about establishing a shared understanding, between the employee and employer, about what is to be achieved at an organizational level.

It is about aligning the organizations objectives and expectations with the employee’s skills, competency requirements, and resources in order to achieve a desired result. With management, the emphasis is on improvement, learning, development, and reaching set goals in order to create a highly productive workforce.

A performance management system includes the following actions:



  • Develop a job description clearly; the main outcome measure of its performance.

  • In the recruit, select the right people with the right selection process anyway.

  • Formulating requirements and standards-based performance achievements, results, and actions.

  • Provide effective orientation, education and training.

  • The provide feedback and mentoring programs; Coaching system.

  • Conduct a discussion with periodic performance achievement; per 3 months / semiannual.

  • The design of an effective compensation system and recognition program for people for their contributions.

  • Provide career promotion / development opportunities for staff.

  • Help with 'exit interview / interview people who resign to understand why employees who have appreciated / there have been recognized but still left the organization.

  • The major objectives of performance management:

  • To enable the employees towards achievement of superior standards of work performance.

  • To help the employees in identifying the knowledge and skills required for performing the job efficiently as this would drive their focus towards performing the right task in the right way.

  • Boosting the performance of the employees by encouraging employee empowerment, motivation and implementation of an effective reward mechanism.

  • Promoting a two-way system of communication between the supervisors and the employees for clarifying expectations about the roles and account-abilities, communicating the functional and organizational goals, providing a regular and a transparent feedback for improving employee performance and continuous coaching.

  • Identifying the barriers to effective performance and resolving those barriers through constant monitoring, coaching and development interventions.

  • Creating a basis for several administrative decisions strategic planning, succession planning, promotions and performance based payment.

There are clear signs of an effective performance management program within an organization:

The difference between a standalone annual appraisal and a performance management program is striking. Improving employee morale, reduced turnover, promoting the right people into the right positions, earned job performance recognition, and growing employee skill sets are but a few of the results that will occur when an organization has an effective performance management program in place.
